Ablecommerce to Magento Transition
Major Surplus was rapidly out-growing their Ablecommerce platform. Their expanding database became unwieldy. Complex transaction support expected by their customers was impossible to meet. Usability for administrators and customers alike was not up to par. RICO transitioned them to Magento to resolve these issues and provide a strong platform for continued expansion.
Responsive and Mobile
62% of mobile users have made a purchase using their device in the last 6 months. It was important to provide this growing population with a great experience. RICO implemented a responsive solution, with a focus on desktop, tablet, and mobile. Now, one store accommodates content for all devices with minimal maintenance.
Ecommerce Features
Major Surplus sought to provide everything expected from a great in-store experience. Building on the flexible Magento platform, RICO implemented a host of new features. This includes, a streamlined return and refunds process, custom shipping and promotional abilities, integration with their ERP system, custom order management, and more.
SEO Presentation and Transition
To improve search traffic, RICO transitioned and built up the existing search engine optimization. Google Analytics provides on-going SEO monitoring. We implemented solutions to ensure old links with lengthy history transferred to the new site.
UI/UX Consultation
Major Surplus had their own design team, but had little experience creating Ecommerce solutions. RICO provided strategic guidance on best practices for User Experience and User Interface Design. This included improvements for usability and ease of scanning on smaller screens, and touch-screen-compatibility. All while maintaining the integrity of the original design.
